Who am I?

Hi!

My name is Andres Sossa and I am an aspiring Italian artist trying to incorporate as many art fields as possible in my art pieces.

I was born in 1999 ,and after spending most of my life in Italy, I moved to Colorado in  2019.

Being surrounded by nature helped me to develop my creativity toward interior design which I followed as a study career in Highschool.

I am primarily interested in digital arts, but my range of creativity expands to graphic designs, hand drawing, sculpturing, and painting.

I am currently an International student at the University of Colorado Boulder and I feel part of a big community that is very hard to find in Italy as a college student.

Being outside of my comfort zone has helped me so much to develop my personality and my artistic trait, making me feel more confident about my skills and more excited to earn every aspect of different kinds of art styles.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Art has been part of my life since I was a kid and has brought me many opportunities since I was very young.

it has always helped me in the harder moments of my life and whenever I needed to run away from reality it was my safe spot where to go.

I like to make art pieces that reflect my state of mind and I like to alter reality by integrating old paintings and portraits in my art as you can see in all the backgrounds in my blog.

I like to think about art as a form of expressing myself and making people question the meaning of every one of my pieces/drawings.

With all the technology in our hands now it is so much easier to create art projects than it was before, but I always want to draw everything by hand first and then dive deep into the technology that is going to help to finalize my artwork.

Taking part in two different art exhibits, opened my eyes to different art styles I have never seen before and made me appreciate more the diversity within the different art styles out there. Meeting other artists, and seeing their ideas, artworks and different personalities brought me joy and helped me realize how important is networking within the art community.

Seeing so many art pieces, pushed me to draw more and create new pieces that came from brainstorming, something that I have never used before.

I am very happy I took my first digital art class in my first semester of college, it taught me how to multytask and be creative in form io have never tried in the past.
